While shopping in McLeodganj I found a bracelet that had a good luck Tibetan prayer inscribed on it and on the inside of the bracelet was a Chinese script. I wondered what that might have meant. Since I can’t read it, my guess is that it may say that it was made in China, which would be very risky if that was the case. I recognize the difference in the two scripts because of their shapes. The Chinese characters do not hang from that horizontal bar that Tibetan scripts seem to dangle from.
The Dalai Lama was also in McLeodganj that day, we were able to see him driving by in a little parade of vehicles. He was waving to us as he went by.
Even here, everything is built around the trees.
It amazed me how such large structures could be built so high in elevation and on uneven ground. A lot of buildings seemed heavily damaged and abandoned.
